The Ultimate Tri Experience

The first-ever of its kind, this Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup connects the seven most prominent International distance races in the United States. It also introduced the first U.S. Open in the sport.

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup is open to amateur and professional triathletes. It showcases the drama, excitement, and popularity of triathlon, while highlighting the incredible athleticism of the world's elite and professional triathletes as they chase down the Toyota Cup.

Series Events
The following events comprise the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup:

Toyota Cup
The Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup unfolds across 7 great American Cities from April through October. Miami, Austin, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas each host event festivals that attract the best and brightest athletes and sponsors. The Series offers three divisions of championships in a race for riches, champion status and personal achievement:

  • Professional Championship
  • Elite Amateur Championship
  • Amateur (Age Group) Championships

Professional Championship
Professionals compete for purse money at each race, as well as for Life Time Series points towards the coveted Toyota Cup Championship.

Professional Rules:

  • A pro must start 3 of the 7 Series events to be Cup Eligible
  • If a pro competes in more than 3 Series events, their top 5 finishes will count towards award placement
  • Eligible pros must start Toyota US Open Triathlon (Dallas) as one of the required 3 events
  • No minimum points are required to be eligible for the Series Bonus
  • In the case of a tie, placement at the Toyota US Open Triathlon (Dallas) will be used as the tie breaker

Elite Amateur
The top 3 elite men and women in Miami, Austin, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas are invited to compete at the Toyota US Open Triathlon in Dallas for the Toyota Cup National Championship. The offer does not roll down if an eligible competitor chooses not to participate or finishes top 3 at multiple series races.

Each qualifying participant receives the following:

  • Comp entry for the Toyota U.S Open Triathlon
  • Travel assistance of $500 

Elite Amateur Prize Purse:

  • Toyota Cup Champion Jacket - 1st place male and female
  • Toyota Cup Jersey - 2nd and 3rd place male and female
  • Orca Gift Certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers at Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon
    (1st place - $500, 2nd place - $300, 3rd place - $200) 

Amateur (Age Group )
The top 10 men and women in each age group, at Miami, Austin, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles, are invited to compete at the Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon in Dallas for the Toyota Cup National Championship.

Each qualifying participant receives the following:

  • Top 10 age groupers at each race receive a free entry into the Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon

The winner of each age group, both men and women, will be crowned the Age Group Toyota Cup National Champion. The prizes are a Toyota Cup trophy and Champion System Toyota Cup National Champion’s jersey.
